Step right up, ladies and gentlemen, and let me tell you a story of a young dreamer from Brownsville, Texas, who rose through the ranks to become a proud Principal today. Born and raised by my grandmother, an immigrant who taught me the value of hard work and perseverance, I was destined to make a mark in the world. Growing up under the glow of those lessons, I set my sights on education early, earning my BA from the University of Texas at Brownsville and later my Master’s degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio. It was the beginning of a journey that would take me to places I never imagined, each step a new act in this big show called life.

I kicked off my educational career in 2001, teaching grades K-4, where I began learning the ropes of guiding young minds. From there, I spent four years as a Bilingual Specialist, helping to bridge cultures and create an inclusive environment for all students. As my career grew, I found myself becoming an Academic Writing Specialist for two years, working to hone the writing skills of students and educators alike. The next chapter took me into leadership, first as an Assistant Principal in San Antonio for 4.5 years, and later, in 2018, I moved to Dallas to re-enter the classroom at Saldivar Elementary after more than a decade away. The call to lead was strong, though, and I returned to administration as Assistant Principal at William Anderson Elementary. In 2023, the spotlight found me again, and I proudly became the Principal of William Anderson, where I continue to dedicate myself to creating an environment where every student can soar. My journey has been anything but ordinary, but I’ve never lost sight of the circus-like wonder that education holds—every day a new performance, every challenge an opportunity for growth.
